King Hussein Cancer Center Renews Sistership Agreement with MD Anderson Cancer Center

Amman, June 5, 2016 – Under the patronage of HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) signed today the renewal of the Sistership Institution Agreement with MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) in the United States.
 
The signing was attended by HRH Prince Talal bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s Special Advisor, HE US Ambassador Alice Wells and HE Suhair al Ali, Board of Trustees member of KHCF.
 
During the signing, Princess Ghida said: “This Sistership Institution Agreement is of utmost importance to us as it links directly the King Hussein Cancer Center with the best in cancer care worldwide, MD Anderson Cancer Center. It also has a direct impact on tens of thousands of patients in the Arab world who will now benefit from the immense advances in cancer care and research achieved at MDACC”
 
The agreement was signed by Dr. Asem Mansour, CEO & Director General of KHCC, representing the King Hussein Cancer Center, and Dr. Oliver Bogler, Vice President for Academic Affairs, representing MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Bogler said: “The King Hussein Cancer Center is considered a strong partner in the fight against cancer in Jordan and the entire Middle East region. We have many opportunities in both centers to enhance our academic and scientific collaboration which targets the enhancement of cancer care worldwide”.
 
KHCC’s CEO Dr. Asem Mansour said: “We are very proud to renew our sistership agreement with MD Anderson Cancer Center, signed originally five years ago, as it will allow us to engage on a more profound level in all the areas of patient care, training and education and research. I am certain that we can achieve great progress through our collaboration”
